Task Questions and Instruction Before this class, students should have studied about algebraic expression. They should known about what is algebra and variables x,y,z etc. In this lesson, I want to teach meaning of equality of algebraic expressions and solving the basic algebraic equations. Week 5 This week we started probability and statistics. We talked about random events on Thursday. It was a different lesson for me because I learned that the events I thought were random events were not random. In every case we said, there were actually other factors that affected it. This course was an interesting start for me. So I'm excited for other probability and statistics courses.
Week 4 This week, we have continued to learn geogebra. I learn using sliders in geogebra. I think it's very useful tools. I think ıts funny and useful. I think I can integrate this tools to my lesson in the future. In thursday, we worked about our homework. I examined a lot of different task and activity example on geogebra. I realize that a lot of actvity can be cerated thank to geogebra. I cannot choose activity for my homewrok. Because there are a lot of things and I cannot decided.
Week 3 This week, we talked about very important problems on mathematics learning. It was equivalence. In primary school students misunderstand about equivalence. Especially, about equivalence symbol. Students in primary school can think that equivalence symbol is just used for writing result of operation. Because of this, in middle school they can struggle with the equation. I think that the application we use in the classroom is very useful for teaching equations. Students can learn the equation. Online math playground is very useful and funny tools. I think I will use this site when I became a teacher. Moreover, We do an activity about geogebra. I find common point of to equations in graph. But, I am not understand this activity well.
Week 2 In Tuesday’s class we try to do triangle activity on geogebra. In the begining it’s little bit hard for me because geogebra is new tool for me. However, the Instruction in book is clear and I give some help to my friends so, I can do the activity. Actually, it’s funny to do this activity. In Thursdays’ class we talked about variables in algebra education. We as a university students know to solve equation with using variables and unknown. However it’s difficult to teach meaning of variable to middle grade students. We examined some application in geogebra about changing variables. These can help students to understand variables in algebra. These are good ways to make variables context more concrete for children.
